Dalsnuten was one of the first places ever visited by the artist on his arrival in Norway and it made a deep impact on him, the connection remained strong throughout his stay in Norway and was much visited and beloved. Dalsnuten is one of a series of twelve 60 x 60 cm impasto landscape oil paintings depicting a very special scene in the south west of Norway. The series has been put together to mark the artists departure after a residency spanning between 2018 to 2021. This painting is heavily textured and has a variety of marks made with brushes, knives, fingers, rollers even bamboo skewers and is full of colour. The painting will hang framed or unframed with equal impact on the viewer and will give a wonderful sense of a rugged, atmospheric open space that you share with nature alone.
